The Music Scholarship

In accordance with the school's Values and focus on academic excellence, a Music scholarship is offered to a student entering Year 11 in 2016 who aspires to be an exceptional musician. To be awarded the Music scholarship, a student must be enrolled in a senior secondary Music Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) course.

The student awarded the scholarship will be expected to maintain high standards of behaviour, attend school regularly and achieve acceptable results throughout Years 11 and 12.

Scholarship Value

The benefit of the scholarship is to cover costs associated with music education and music performance in Years 11/12. This includes:

  • Course charges.
  • Camps and seminars.
  • Instrument hire.


To be eligible for the Scholarship applicants must:

  • Study a senior secondary Music Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) course.
  • Possess a demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, especially in Music.
  • A demonstrated interest in Music.

Note: Failure to comply with these conditions may result in the withdrawal of the Scholarship.

The school reserves the right not to award the scholarship to the highest ranked candidate if that student has already won a scholarship.

Selection Process

The Scholarship will be advertised to the school and wider population.

The selection process will be based upon:

  • Academic Achievement, especially in Music.
  • A supporting statement (maximum one typed page) from the applicant demonstrating his/her dedication to the study of music to the highest levels.

The Scholarship will be presented to the successful applicant at a school assembly.

Applications must be submitted by the due date.

Applicants will be advised on the outcome as soon as possible.
