Shaun Tan Young Artist Award Finalist

 

Congratulations to Olivia in Year 11 for becoming a finalist in this year's Shaun Tan Young Artist Award with her piece, By my side. This piece is a pain-stakingly detailed pixel portrait of the artist's friend Amy and took over 500 hours to paint.

This visual art award is open to Western Australian school students and encourages imagination, innovation and creativity. The top 10 artworks from each category are displayed in the Subiaco Public Library from 13 July until 8 August.
