MOUNT LAWLEY STUDENT WINS GOLD AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF THE PERFORMING ARTS
Our Year 9 Music student Louis has just won GOLD for the junior category for the World Championships of the Performing Arts in Music Instrumental. Over 60 countries from around the world and some 3000 competitors in various categories such as actors, models, singers, musicians compete at this world competition.
Due to COVID, all entries were via video and its fantastic to see an Australian student being able to participate in such a vast competition.
Louis entered the vocal/self-accompanied guitar/harmonica and an instrumental piece. He advanced to the semi-finals and then onto the grand finals and where he won gold medals for both performances. The was the only musician out of the Junior and Senior sections in Australia. Our school is so proud of Louis's achievement, and we wish him success in his future musical ventures.
