Exploration of the Found and Handmade showcases the artworks of Year 7 and 8 students, their achievements have been completed in weekly classes facilitated alongside our guest artist Stephanie De Biasi, in term 3 and 4. Within this time students have been encouraged to push boundaries conceptually through material and design processes as well as gaining experience and knowledge in the arts industry. By utilising recycled materials, air drying, and paper clay, students have explored sustainable ways of making and have repurposed these second hand objects to highlight environmental issues caused by excessive consumption and waste. This project has allowed students to evaluate and reflect on the value of objects consumed within their own homes.
