Rotary 4 Way Speech Competition District Winnerrotary_4-way_speech.jpg

Suu Kyi, of Year 10, presented an engaging, entertaining and thoughtful speech on the need to eliminate racial stereotyping at the recent Rotary district finals.

She was the final of seven speakers and it was definitely a case of leaving the best till last.

The schools we competed against were Perth Modern, Sacred Heart College, Carine Senior High School, Nagle Catholic College (Geraldton), Mercedes College and Dianella Secondary College.

The topics were varied in subject matter and all the speakers did really well in representing their schools and their sponsoring Rotary Clubs.

It is lovely that Mount Lawley Senior High School won this given it is the 70th birthday of the Mount Lawley Rotary Club – a fitting birthday tribute for our sponsoring club.
