Past2020 ANZAC Tour

Place Winner

Earlier this year the Year 9 students embarked upon a research project reflecting Western Australian men and women from country towns, who participated in any conflict in the twentieth century. Sacha, of Year 9, researched 'Porter', a WWI veteran, who was the recipient of the newly built Mt Hawthorne ANZAC House, following his Gallipoli campaign.

In Term 3, Sacha expanded this research and completed an essay to submit to the "Premiers ANZAC Student Tour 2020" competition. His essay was an excellent example of research and reflection which earned him an interview during the October holidays. On November 11th, Sacha was informed that he indeed had won a place on the "PAST2020" tour, along with 9 other students from around the state.

We are very pleased to say that Sacha will be travelling to Darwin and Singapore for 10 days in April 2020 to commemorate ANZAC Day in Singapore. He will be a fabulous ambassador for his family, the school and the state. We congratulate Sacha and look forward to his report upon his return.
