Languages & Arts Festival

The traditional individual Languages and Arts Festivals were combined on one day - 5 April - at school this year, and what a triumphant success it was!

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in the Languages & Arts Festival. It was an enormous logistical exercise and one that took many hours to put together. I particularly want to congratulate Sonia Hatzis and Lynda Kuntyj for their work in taking overall responsibility for the day. Special thanks to Sonia's husband who spent a lot of time assisting with the program. Well done to Gabby Jolliffe, Stuart Fox, Jen Barrie and Catherine Smith who organised the Certificate students who became small business traders as a  part of their course. I hope they all made lots of money and also enjoyed their foray into small business.

There were so many excellent outside providers and such a wide variety of internal stalls it is hard to single out the most popular. There was certainly something for everyone, including excellent entertainment from our students and outside acts. It was fantastic to have the support of the GAT, SVAPA, Music and LPSG parents helping out alongside outside groups who came to support our students. The event would not have been possible without the support of the whole staff who undertook so many different and vital tasks including supervision, running activities, setting up and packing up and supporting the students. Thanks to each and every one of you for your contribution to making the event so successful. I was very proud of the students who took part in the day. There  was a really positive atmosphere and students had fun. I really think it was the best festival held yet.
