Parenting Workshop - Community Wellbeing and Building Resiliencedsc_8869.jpg

The City of Stirling's Family Services is running a  parenting workshop on Cyber safety and positive body image on Thursday, 6 December, 5.30pm-9.00pm at the  Bob Daniel Community Centre, Inglewood.

Jordan Foster will present information on  the current social media and gaming trends and most risky apps in the community. Jordan Foster is a Clinical Psychologist and a cyber safety expert. She was the winner of the 2018 WA Young Achiever Award.

The Butterfly Foundation from NSW  will conduct the workshop on Positive Body Image. Information on eating disorder, 'fat talk', and the link between poor body image and self –esteem and other risk-taking behaviours will be also be discussed in this workshop.

Body image is consistently reported as one of the top three concerns for young people. With society's increasing obsession with appearance and diet, it can be difficult for parents to know how to support positive body image.

The Butterfly Foundation is Australia's leading not-for-profit for eating disorders and body image. This seminar aims to empower parents so they feel better equipped to help their child develop and maintain body confidence through their child and adolescent years.
