Course Selection for Year 10 Students

During Term Two, Year 10 students will be selecting pathways and courses for Years 11 and 12. Both parents and students will be involved in making these important choices. To assist with course selection, two information evenings are scheduled for Term Two.

1: Pathways Presentation

On Monday the 7th of May between 7.00 and 9.00pm there will be a Pathways Presentation looking at post compulsory options. This is of particular importance for Year 10 students and will link with their subject selections for Year 11.

This evening will have three components:

  • Information from North Metropolitan TAFE will be presented on course available, eligibility for enrolment and relevance for pathways to employment and university entrance.
  • Alpha Motivation will speak about the skills that employers of the future will be most interested in.
  • Representatives from the University of WA, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, Notre Dame University and CQUniversity come together for a combined presentation on courses and entry requirements.

Student Ambassadors from each of the universities will also be present.

2: Year 10 Parent Information Evening

On Wednesday the 6th of June between 7.00 and 9.00pm a full explanation of subject choices and course requirements will be provided by Ms. Julie Simon, Associate Principal of the Senior School.

There will be an opportunity to speak with staff about the new courses and the subject counselling process.

The venue for each presentation will be the Education Lecture Theatre Room 17.157 at ECU, Mt Lawley Campus.
