US Election Event
On Monday night six students from the Yr 12 Politics and Law class attended a 'Q and A' style panel event focussed on the US Presidential election, held by PLEAWA at Wesley College.
The panel comprised of Kim Beazley, who offered insight on the US system after 5 years as Australia's Ambassador in Washington, Penny Lee spoke from her experience after 20 years of working on Democrat campaigns and Alex Conant offered his recent perspective as Republican Marco Rubios' advisor.
The students were able to ask questions of the panelists after the introductory remarks and many tough issues such a gun control, the role of gender and the chances of Trump changing his style were raised.
The students; Johnny, Sophia, Lulu, Bianca, Zoe and Nicola all agreed that it was both entertaining and educative, with lots of useful understanding gained for their course.
