Lawley Art Auction Planning Underway for 2016
The Lawley Art Auction is the school's major fund raising event, raising funds in order to maximise the creative prospects of Music and SVAPA students.
Artworks are entered by established and emerging WA artists.
Held annually, the Auction represents a tremendous commitment and partnership between parents, business, community and school.
In 2015 we raised over $25,000.
The Lawley Art Auction is jointly organised by the Music and SVAPA committees with the support of the MLSHS Parents & Citizens Association Inc.
Ideally the Lawley Art Auction committee is 10 or so Music and 10 or so SVAPA parents.
We also welcome parent supporters for sponsorship, food and raffles.
In 2015, the Music Committee allocated funds to the Music Department of buy the equipment it needs as it settles into its new building.
Mount Lawley Senior High School offers and extensive music program, in 2015 it had over 470 students.
The program gives students the opportunity to study classical, contemporary and jazz music and the flexibility, as they pass through the school, to determine the direction of their own music journey.
The SVAPA Parent Support Group support the SVAPA team with funds to enable the students to gain a cutting-edge arts' education with early morning enrichment classes, independent projects and weekend workshops, engaging industry professionals to interact and mentor students.
