Italian Dante Alighieri Speech Competition
Dante Alighieri, a Florentine writer and poet, is considered to be the father of the Italian language.
The Dante Society of WA promotes the study of the Italian language and a deeper understanding of Italy's rich cultural heritage.
This year students presented a speech in Italian on the theme of the seven arts, being architecture, sculpture, painting, music, poetry, dance and performance.
A number of Mount Lawley Senior High School students competed in the Dante Alighieri Speech Competition, achieving excellent results.
Prizes were awarded at each year level.

Italian Dante Alighieri Examination
The Dante Alighieri Society of Western Australia conducts examinations in Italian each year for students studying Italian in Western Australian High Schools.
The examinations include listening, reading, writing and speaking components.
The Dante Alighieri examinations are an important part of the Italian Language education system in Western Australia, and help students to become well prepared for their school and WACE Examinations.
All participants are carefully assessed and given a performance grade.
Prizes are awarded at each year level.
A very big congratulations to both Kes and Elouise of year 12 who were awarded with equal second prize in the Dante Alighieri State Examination this year.
