Folk Trio Competing in 6PR Christmas Music Competition
We would love you to vote for our Lawley Folk Trio in this year's High School Christmas Music Competition.
On Tuesday 1 December, three of our students, Hannah (Yr12), Jamie (Yr12) and Clancy (Yr10), participated in a High School Christmans Music Competition hosted by radio station 6PR.
The girls competed against representatives from other high schools, performing a range of Christmas songs live on the Perth Tonight program with Chris Ilsley.
The three girls harmonised, and accompanied themselves with guitar and violin.
Their selection included Silent Night, White Christmas, and a selection of other pieces they have performed.
They were also interviewed about the school, it's music program and their thoughts on music.
"The girls performed last night on 6PR - they did a fantastic job. The music was delightful, but also they were charming and beautifully well spoken. They did us proud."
Michelle De Rozario (Music Teacher)
"It was a really good experience, and quite exciting to play live music on the radio. Not many people get to do that sort of thing"
Clancy
You can listen to their performance, and their interview on the 6PR website.
The winner of the competition is determined by votes cast online.
The prize is $1,000 of music equipment for the school.
