Invitation for Families to Host a Japanese Student (27 July - 10 August 2014)

Following the success of our most recent Cultural Exchange Program at Mount Lawley SHS, the school has decided to host another group of Japanese students so we are looking for families to register their interest to host a student!

As those families who have hosted have already discovered, hosting an international student offers many unique opportunities, including the chance to learn about another culture and build life-long friendships.

The students will stay with a family from the school and participate in regular classes alongside our students.

The aim of their visit is to experience our Australian school and family life and improve their English speaking ability.

Host students can participate in a free all day excursion with their Japanese student and host students from Mount Lawley have the chance to win a $200 gift voucher or an iPad mini!

The family's responsibilities are to involve the student into their routine, including getting them to and from school and to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You don't need to have a spare room (the student can share with one of your children), nor do you need to change your daily routine - your student will fit-in as a member of your family!

Furthermore, to help you help us support the program each host family will receive a host payment of $300 to assist with any associated costs.

If you are interested in hosting a student please return the Host Family Expression of Interest form below to Mr Jaeik Jeong by Friday May 30, 2014 .

Once we receive your expression of interest, Jason Hutchinson, the Program Manager Gold Intercultural Learning (GIL) will get in touch with you to explain more about the program.

Alternatively, you can contact Jason directly on 9481 1694 or 0417 773 846 or email at jason@goldil.com.au
