Blessing of the Roads
Tuesday 14 April 2014 will see Mount Lawley SHS Media students work feature in the 'Blessing of the Roads'.
To be held at the Yokine Regional Space, 'Blessing of the Roads' is an event by the Cities of Stirling, Bayswater, Swan and Joondalup to create awareness about safe road travel leading up to the Easter holiday period.
As part of the event, extracts of videos created by Year 12 Media students, Holly, Grace, Joshua and Brandon will compliment presentations by guest speakers and several displays.
Road Safety Officer for the City of Stirling, Shane Pope, approached Mount Lawley SHS's Media Department late in 2013 to produce video about road safety that would appealed to youth.
Mentored by Mat de Koning, a local video director and producer, the students have been working long hours to complete their videos.
'Blessing of the Roads' commences at 9:30 am, Tuesday 15 April at Yokine Regional Space, Wordsworth Avenue, Yokine. Members of the Mount Lawley SHS community are welcome to attend.
