Would You Like to Host a Japanse Student?

Thanks to the support of the families in our school community, we ran two very successful cultural exchange programs at Mount Lawley SHS last year in conjunction with Gold Intercultural Learning (GIL).

Hosting a Japanese student offers many unique opportunities, including the chance to learn about another culture and build life-long friendships.

We have another group coming to Mount Lawley SHS for 1 week from March 23 - 30 and we are inviting families to register their interest to host a student.

As usual, our visitors will have special English classes at the school, accompany host students to some of their regular classes and interact with them and their friends at recess and lunch.

Host students will also be able to join their Japanese student on a free excursion to Rottnest Island.

Families' responsibilities are to involve the student into their routines, including getting them to and from school and to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Host families will receive $150 to cover costs.

If you are interested in hosting a student please return the Host Family Expression of Interest Form to the front office before the end of term.

All students may apply and will be matched according to gender, and where possible, by age and interests.
