Inter-House Curling
Congratulations to Hackett for taking out the Senior School Competition, and to Forrest for taking victory in the Middle School at todays Mount Lawley Curling Spring Series Competition (MLCSSC).
Excellent participation in the Middle School saw Forrest, Murdoch and Hackett all present teams of 10 (5 girls and 5 boys), with O'Connor fielding 8.
In the Senior School, Hackett filled 8 of their 10 available spots, and Forrest filled 6. Murdoch and O'Connor failed to produce any representatives to the competition.
For those familiar with the Olympic Winter Sport of Curling, you may understand the concept of a pushing a large stone across an ice rink. Without a large ice rink, we reversed the process and pushed a 5 kilogram block of ice across the bricks. Points were scored for blocks that ended up closest to the centre of the target.
Final results were as follows, and will be weighted and added to the House Shield Competition.
