Parent and Student Pathway Information Evening

Parents/Guardians and Students from Years 10, 11 and 12 are invited to attend an information evening

Tuesday 15 May 2012, commencing at 6.45 pm

This evening will discuss the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), focusing on:

  • requirements to achieve graduation,
  • consequences of not achieving graduation,
  • alternative options available to all students.

We acknowledge that these are areas that many parents may feel they lack understanding of and we would like to provide some information to demystify these requirements. The information provided would be of interest to all parents and students but particularly pertinent to Years 10 and 11.

Staff from Polytechnic West (one of the leading State Training Providers - formerly TAFE) will present information on courses available, eligibility for enrolment, relevance for pathways to employment and university entrance as well as the opportunity to answer questions.

Following this, representatives from the University of WA, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University will present a combined presentation on courses and entry requirements and answer questions.

The program is:

6.45 pm Introductions

6.50 pm WACE presented by Andy Outten, Year 12 Coordinator

7.30 pm Polytechnic West

8.00 pm Combined universities

8.30 pm Close

The venue will be the Education Lecture Theatre Room 17 at ECU, Mt Lawley Campus.
