Enrolling at Mount Lawley

Applications for Year 7 enrolment are available via the school website.

  • Applications are typically due in the second-last week of Term 2
  • Eligibility is based on the school's local intake area
  • Supporting documentation is required with all applications

Year 6 Orientation Day

Held in early December, Orientation Day provides future Year 7 students with an opportunity to experience life at Mount Lawley Senior High School before commencing the following year.

Students meet teachers and peers, become familiar with the campus, and gain valuable information to help them feel confident and prepared for the transition to secondary school.

Specialist Programs

Mount Lawley Senior High School offers a range of specialist programs for students with particular interests, talents and aspirations. Entry into these programs is selective and subject to application, audition and/or testing processes.

Gifted and Talented Languages Program

  • Applications open: Term 4, Year 5
  • Applications close: Term 1, Year 6
  • Testing: Term 1, Year 6
  • Offers released: Term 2

Preparing for Year 7

Starting high school is an exciting milestone. Throughout the year, students and families will receive information regarding orientation, booklists, uniforms and other important matters to help ensure a smooth transition into Year 7.

Frequently Asked Questions

When are enrolment forms available?

Applications are generally available in the second half of Term 2 and distributed to local feeder primary schools or made available online.

When are applications due?

Applications are usually due by the end of Term 2, with outcomes communicated during Term 3.

Do students from local primary schools automatically gain entry?

No. Enrolment is based on residential address within the intake area, not the primary school attended.

Can siblings gain automatic enrolment?

Sibling enrolment is not guaranteed and is subject to availability and intake priorities.

What documents are required?

The following original documents must be sighted:

  • Full Birth Certificate
  • Passport and visa documentation (if applicable)
  • Proof of residential address (e.g. lease agreement or proof of ownership, plus supporting documents such as utility bills or driver’s licence)
  • Access restriction documentation (if applicable)
