Contributions, Charges and Payments

At Mount Lawley Senior High School, we are committed to providing students with high-quality educational opportunities and learning experiences.

While the State Government funds staffing, facilities and the core resources required to deliver the Western Australian Curriculum, Voluntary Contributions and Charges enable the school to enhance educational programs through additional resources, specialised equipment, technology, consumable materials and learning experiences that benefit all students.

The school is committed to keeping costs as low as possible while ensuring students have access to quality programs and resources.

Compulsory Charges and Voluntary Contributions

The School Board has approved a voluntary contribution of $235 per student for students in Years 7 to 10, in accordance with Department of Education policy. These contributions assist the school to provide additional learning resources, library materials, digital technologies and classroom consumables that support teaching and learning across all learning areas.

Some courses, specialist programs and activities incur costs in addition to the voluntary contribution. These are compulsory charges and apply only where students participate in optional educational programs or activities that require additional resources, consumable materials, equipment, transport, venue hire or other services.

For students in Years 11 and 12, course charges are compulsory and vary according to the subjects selected. Charges are based on the actual cost of materials, resources and services required to deliver each course.
