Technologies

Students engage in creative and practical problem-solving through Digital Technologies and Design & Technologies, building innovation, design thinking and practical life skills relevant to future industries and everyday life.

The Australian Curriculum: Technologies consists of two distinct but related subjects - Design and Technologies, and Digital Technologies. These subjects ensure that all students have an opportunity to learn about, and work with, traditional, contemporary and emerging technologies that shape the world in which we live.

Mount Lawley Senior High School offers a range of specialist subjects within the Technologies learning area.

Design and Technologies

Design and Technologies allows students to use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce solutions to authentic needs and opportunities. In creating solutions, as well as responding to the designed world, students will contribute to sustainable patterns of living for themselves and others.

Digital Technologies

Digital Technologies allows students to use computational thinking and information systems to define, design and implement solutions. Students develop an understanding of how digital systems and data representation work, and how to create solutions using a range of programming and data management approaches.
