Korean War Commemorative Service 2026
On Monday 27 July, Mount Lawley Senior High School was privileged to attend the annual Korean War Commemorative Service at the Korean War Memorial in Kings Park, hosted by the Royal Australian Regiment Association WA.
The service marked the 73rd anniversary of the Korean War Armistice Agreement and honoured the courage, service and sacrifice of the Australians who served during the Korean War. It was a meaningful opportunity to remember those who gave so much and to reflect on the importance of preserving their legacy for future generations.
Mount Lawley Senior High School was proud to once again play a significant role in the ceremony, representing not only our school community but also the young people of Western Australia.
This year's service was held under clear blue skies and warm sunshine, providing beautiful weather for the occasion.
Principal Lesley Street, Program Coordinator - Languages Louise Chapman, Media and Communications Officer Owen Briffa, Korean Teacher Hyojeong Ahn, and our Year 11 and 12 Korean ATAR students proudly attended the service.
Acknowledgement of Country
Mount Lawley Senior High School acknowledges the Whadjuk (Whadjak) People of the Nyoongar Nation as the Traditional Custodians of this land. We pay our respects to their Elders, both past and present, and to their continuing connection to Noongar Boodja (Noongar Country).
