Physical & Health Education
Hello, and welcome to Health & Physical Education (HPE) in Senior School. We would like to introduce you into our exciting world of teaching, learning and of course - fun!
Extra Curricular Activities
Fun after school
With terrific support of teachers from other learning areas, Mount Lawley HPE has always produced an excellent variety of sports available for students to participate in after school hours, providing focus for many of our aspiring sporting champions or just plain fun and excitement for others.
We are very proud to inform you about the large range of activities that occur during the year, some of which include Whole School (Middle & Senior) involvement. These include the Mount Lawley Swimming Carnival and Athletics Carnival; Interschool Year 10 Sports Carnival; Interschool Athletics and Swimming Carnivals; Beach Volleyball Carnival; Australian Volleyball Schools Cup (Melbourne), AFL Sportready Football Cup, Interschool Boys & Girls Basketball; Interschool Boys & Girls Soccer; Interschool Netball; Interschool Cricket and the Be Active WA Schools Orienteering Championships.
House Athletics and Swimming Carnivals
Mount Lawley has a proud tradition of participation and competition in athletics and swimming, producing both highly successful events and excellent sports champions. Our nurturing of these athletes through training programs and guidance has seen individual Champion Boys & Girls in interschool competition, State and National Champions and also our recent victory in the B Division Interschool Swimming Championships.
Camps and Excursions
Our Outdoor Education program encourages a better understanding and connection for students with our natural environment. This is achieved through some exciting excursion and camps which include snorkelling at Rottnest Island, sailing on the Swan River, Kayaking at Walyunga National Park, Abseiling at Statham's Quarry, gaining a "Skipper's Ticket" in power boating, Orienteering in the Darling Range, canoeing on the Swan River and Bushwalking on the Bibbulmun Track.
