Mount Lawley Senior High School is committed to create an educational precinct with Edith Cowan University that will maximise educational opportunities for students. The school, university and Department of Education and Training have established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will provide a range of innovative opportunities for students and staff. The focus of the partnerships is on:
- research and development in education;
- technology and enterprise;
- arts;
- digital technologies; and
- sharing of physical resources.
Already significant work has been undertaken with students accessing Certificate IV courses at the WA Academy of Performing Arts(WAAPA) in Jazz & Contemporary Music and Classical Music, School of Education (biotechnology and Information and Communication Technology) and the School of Contemporary Arts (Theatre).
Staff are engaging in Professional Development in information and communications technologies, ECU students and staff are developing pre-service and post-graduate study links with Mount Lawley Senior High School, and innovate curriculum approaches are being undertaken in Science and Technology & Enterprise in collaboration with the School of Education.
The school and University also share the Sport & Fitness Centre and car park.
