The Mount Lawley Senior High School Council comprises the Principal, representatives of the P & C and local community, representatives of the staff and students.
School Council
The Mount Lawley Senior High School Council is formed with the fundamental purpose of enabling parents and members of the community to engage in activities that are in the best interests of students and will enhance the education provided by the school.
In summary, the Council operates under Terms of Reference that gives it duties and powers to:
- Contribute to setting the school's objectives, priorities and general policy directions
- Determine dress code for students
- Approve charges and contributions and other costs
- Promote the school in the community
- Participate in the selection of key staff appointments

The Council is made up of parents, staff, students and community representatives. A meeting cannot proceed without representation from students, parents or staff. For Full membership details please click here. The Chair of School Council for 2006 is Christine Richardson and Deputy Chair is Rob Walker .
Council usually meets on the 3 rd and 8 th Mondays of the term at 7.30 pm in the Conference Room. The dates are also available on the School Calendar . Minutes are available from the website (put up 2006 as pdf files – CR will need to send them through)
Each issue of the School Newsletter will contain an article from Council, and through that, we will let you know you how we will be fulfilling our responsibilities as a Council during the year.
